Tumuaki / Principal

Holy Family Catholic School in Wanaka is seeking a visionary and dynamic leader to join our school community as Principal. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a progressive and welcoming Catholic school in one of New Zealand’s most beautiful locations.

The Role:

As Principal, you will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the high standards of teaching and learning, pastoral care, and community engagement that Holy Family Catholic School is known for. You will work closely with a highly engaged staff, students, parents, and the wider community to build on the school’s successes and guide its future development.

• Provide strong, inspirational leadership that aligns with the school’s Catholic special character.

• Embrace and lead our strategic direction and be able to implement and walk our vision, goals and school values.

• Foster a positive and inclusive school culture that supports student well-being and achievement.

• Lead and manage professional growth, acknowledging teachers’ abilities, passions and expertise.

• Continue to lead and develop evidence-based teaching practice that delivers the best quality education and ensures equitable outcomes for all students.

• Engage effectively with the school community, building strong relationships with students, parents, staff, and the parish.

• Manage school resources efficiently, ensuring the ongoing financial and operational sustainability of the school.

The candidate will:

• Be a practicing Catholic, committed to the values and teachings of the Church.

• Have a proven track record of leadership and management experience in an educational setting.

• Value a team approach. Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and inspire others.

• Be passionate about student learning and well-being, with a focus on achieving excellence for all students.

• Possess the ability to think strategically and innovatively, guiding the school through future opportunities and challenges.

• Have strong written and oral communication skills.
